Basic Instructions for Entering Text

Creating Text
First, you must register and log in. Once logged in, go into a forum. From within the forum, click on "Post new forum topic", which will bring up a new message text box. Now you need to choose how to enter the text. Do you want to simply type a text message (see Choice 1), or do you want to change sizes and styles of text, add pictures, etc. (see Choice 2)?
Choice 1, Simple Text
To enter a simple message, simply type in a title at the top, then enter you message in the text box, and click on the "submit" button at the bottom of this page. That's all there is to it.
Choice 2, Ability to choose sizes and styles of text, etc.
In addition to just entering plain text when you write messages (or any other content on this website), you can have access to a word-processor type editor, known as a wysiwgy (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get) editor, that easily allows you type and edit text. The basic registered users of this website have a very basic wysiwyg editor. The members from Carrscorner, who are know to me, will have access to a more advanced version of the wysiwyg editor which allows writers to use different sizes and different styles of text.
Only specific roles of users have this feature enabled. The regular members from Carrscorner will have this ability, but I must manually change your role after you register and log in. Irregardless, after you first register and log in, you can still post messages, but for your first message(s), just use the plain text box (no wysiwyg editor). After I see you have registered, I'll change your role to have the wysiwyg.
Next, after you write you message using the wysiwyg, you must click on "Input Format" below the textbox, and choose "Full HTML". (Unless you choose the "Full HTML", you won't see anything except plain text.)

Best Wishes,
