Creating Text

First, you must register and log in. Once logged in, You have several ways to enter text.

  1. Writing Articles: If you want to write and article, on the left menu click on "Create Content", then click on "Book Page " This will open up a blank box text editor. If you want to enable the WYSIWYG editor, click on the "enable rich text" link at the bottom.
  2. Writing Messages to Articles: At the bottom of most articles there is a "Post new comment" message box.
  3. Forum: You can go enter messages in the Forum

Now you need to choose how to enter the text. Do you want to simply type a text message (see Choice 1), or do you want to change sizes and styles of text, add pictures, etc. (see Choice 2)?

Choice 1, Simple Text

To enter a simple message, simply type in a title at the top, then enter you message in the text box, and click on the "submit" button at the bottom of this page. That's all there is to it.

Choice 2, Ability to choose sizes and styles of text, etc.

In addition to just entering plain text when you write messages (or any other content on this website), you can have access to a word-processor type editor, known as a wysiwgy (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get) editor, that easily allows you type and edit text. The basic registered users of this website have a very basic wysiwyg editor. Once members have entered some messages and/or written some articles, they can have access to a more advanced version of the wysiwyg editor which allows writers to use different sizes and different styles of text.

Only specific roles of users have this more advanced feature enabled, after I get to know them. To enable this feature I must manually change your role after you register and log in. Irregardless, after you first register and log in, you can still post messages, but for your first message(s), just use the plain text box (no wysiwyg editor). After I see you have registered, I'll change your role to have the wysiwyg.

Next, after you write you message using the wysiwyg, you must click on "Input Format" below the textbox, and choose "Full HTML". (Unless you choose the "Full HTML", you won't see anything except plain text.)

Pictures: Once you learn how to enter basic text, you might want to learn how to enter pictures. Go here: Adding Pictures to Your Posts .
